What year and model Rangers worst for hull blisters?

I was wanting to know if there was particular year and model of Ranger boats that are worst about hull blisters. I have seen some that were not related to the bunk boards but all of the bottom covered in blisters.

If not mistaken the EPA required all boat mfg co's to use water soluble gel coat resins after 2008.

2005-2007 seemed to be some of the worst years from what I remember.

I've got an 07 and when I replaced a rubber piece on the fender, it had blisters under it. When I changed my MK Maxxum to a Fortrex I believe (not 100%) there were blisters under the TM mount. I'm sure my hull probably looks like a 13 year old boys face but I haven't swam under it to look.

    my 2006 has blisters.

But as was stated, they all can get blisters now.

Recommend using something other than carpet on the bunks.

I think Ranger started addressing blisters in 08 production with a barrier coat.

The barrier coat will not prevent all blisters, not having it will not mean you will have them. Conditions still matter.

Check them all. The wet carpet and even behind the seats where it traps water all promote blistering. As noted, the recent addition of a barrier coat aides in prevention but does not stop them from forming. Once the blistering starts it will continue. If your looking at any used boat get it jacked up off the bunks and check it yourself. Trust no one as that can add up to $4K for reparations.

I was also wondering about this.. will the Gatorback bunks prevent blisters unlike carpeted bunks? I was just at a sportshow and saw the Gatorback product.. has anyone had any experience with the Gatorbacks? I was also wondering if they would scratch the hull up?

You got that right. Got 'em on my '98 because of just that. Had no clue until I took it to a shop for an estimate to repair some scratches to the hull bottom. The shop owner called to ask if I was aware of the fact that I had hull blisters. About 3500 to repair.
