    Anyone fish with these?

Bought one just like this the other day for a couple dollars at a garage sale. Rigged it up and put it on an okuma celilo rod and let my daughter fish with it yesterday and it was smooth as butter. LOL. She could cast it excellent and loved it. First time I have used one of the underspin trigger reels.

Haven't tried the Zebco reels but years ago tried the Daiwa version. The line twist for some reason was enough of a problem to eventually make get rid of them. Hope the Zebco's work better for her.

Believe it or not my team partner who is very old school has a reel like that on a flipping stick and uses it for skipping And he puts fish in the boat with it

It is the same as a pushbutton reel.

Had a couple of those back in the early-mid 80's. Cannot remember if they were UL4 or what number. Liked them on a 5' UL for crappie. Line management became a problem for me eventually and I went back to my Cardinals and my bail spring breaking Mitchell 308's.

Yep, same concept I guess just the first time I have had an underspin trigger style like this.

Just make sure to keep fresh line on those reels and they will work as designed.

I use barrel swivels to help with line twist.

I keep a few spincast reels around for the grandkids to use. We have a small Pflueger underspin that has held up pretty well. All of them have line twist and other line problems. I just plan on putting on fresh line fairly often. The other spincast reels that seem to keep working are the old Johnson reels.

I think im going to pick a few of the Pflueger models up for my daughter. She can use a spinning reel but likes the under spin model better. I restring often anyways.
