    What's Your Home Lake

What do yall consider to be your home body of water?

I would say mine is SML, although I'm closer to Anna.

    I usually fish SML 8-10 times/year, Anna (Hot and Cold Side) 4-5 times/year, Buggs 1-2 times/year, Potomac 1-2 times/year, Chickahominy 1-2 times/year.

    Just curious.

Smith Mountain Lake, fish all year around, usually 3-4 days a week, sometimes more.

The James River and the Chick.. unfortunately not many other options that are close. I get to Gaston about 4 times a year, its about 1 hr 45 minutes from me. I just spent a long weekend in Alabama Fishing, they are truly blessed with the amount of lakes and rivers and the variety of habitats they have there compared to what we have here.

I live in Norfolk but consider the Perquimans River in NC to be my home/favorite fishing water. I like all of the rivers feeding into the Albemarle Sound.

I am closest to pamunkey and mattaponi. But my mom has a place at Gaston so I fish there about every other weekend during the summer. So I have to say Gaston.

That would be Gaston since it’s a hundred feet out the back door.

    I'd say Lake Chesdin
It can be a tough lake but when it turns out it can be great. I'm still hoping to catch my first trophy bass on my home lake.

I have a home less than a mile from the Potomac where I spent many days (37 yrs) on the river and my retirement home is on Kerr where I spend my time now. The hell with the traffic in NoVa.

I’d have to say Smith Mtn. I fish there 15 days/yr or so but still can’t keep up with Travis Lively or Robert Coyner. Those guys are hammers.

My favorite is upper James for brown bass. With last years record rainfall it stayed high and muddy more than it was clear. I had 13 trips on the river and 55 to Holiday Lake. Think I got my money's worth out of my annual park pass.
