I have a brand new 225 four stroke with a little over an hour on it. I can only get a little more than a 1/4 trim while on plain. When i come to a stop and idle, I can raise up the motor all the way? What am I missing?

You have Trim & Tilt. Under a load the motor will only trim and stay in contact with the trim rams(the two smaller rods). Once you are idling or stopped the motor will Tilt which is the single large piston rod

ya there should be 2 rams for trim, 1 for tilt.. once on tilt motor is no longer resting on trim rams. some guages show half at full trim some 1/4 ..not the first post regarding this.

When properly set up your Smartcraft Trim should be right at "10" at the maximum trim.
