    Location of LSS-2 transducer

I'm sure this has been discussed several times, but I'm thinking of moving my LSS-2. I have it on the bottom plate of my jackplate. (flat plate). I get a fair picture, but talking with a few folks it might be better with it deeper in the water. Thoughts?

Not many other options. You can use a bracket that mounts to the side of the plate and they sell an extension to drop it a couple of inches. But a lot of people mount them under the step on the boat. If that works, then under the jackplate should work as good or better. I think you just have to find the right speed - just fast enough but not fast enough to cause too much turbulence

I have questioned mine mounted flat to the bottom of the plate after not seeing many fish last summer, but I think the solution is to go to a lake with more bass.

Lee...I think that's it. 3-4 mph is my best image as well.

Angle is everything when it comes to transducer placement. The transducer needs to be level with the boat in the water and in forward gear.

UBP now makes an adjustable LSS bottom plate. It drops the transducer down more like the LSS plate but allows your to adjust the angle.

I’ve heard he’s horrible about getting in touch with. I just got 1 of these plates but bought it from Steve at hydrodynamics and had Bailey powdercoat it. I never tried to get in tough with UBP guy myself. Maybe Tim has the batphone connection to him.

Tim...I've never seen an adjustable plate. Can you text me a pic or two? Might be worth giving one a try.
