Looking for mounting ideas and pics for 12 inch HDS carbon at the console of a RT188.

Not sure the difference between the 198 and 188 console but I have my carbon 12 on a precision sonar bracket on my 198. I also have the tilt wheel and spacer for the steering wheel though. It might be the only way to make it Fit if you want it on the console

On my 2019 RT 188 I used Precision Sonar mount and steering wheel spacer kit to mount my Helix 12. I know my unit is not a Lowrance but size wise they are close. The 2019 has a different console than the 2018 models

No i had a 7” unit flush mounted.

That precision sonar mount looks like a great idea. I would have to try one with the steering wheel spacer to make sure a gloved hand clears OK. If I already had the 7 I would likely use the 7 for GPS navigation and use a Balzout for the 12. I had dual's at the console on my big glass boat. I decided I spent too much time looking and not enough time fishing, so I now have two HDS7's and catch more fish.

It really depends on how much you use your electronics. One of the best offshore guys I know still uses an old Lowrance 520.
