It’s sad Gander mountain was the first big shop I went to when I was a kid. My uncle took me there on the way to Canada and it was amazing. Unfortunately , Gander died when it went bankrupt and closed. This is simply an RV dealer that wanted Gander Mountains large retail spaces. They also did some shady stuff when reopening as a RV first place. Alot of the outdoor stuff they are selling , you can tell they don’t know what they are doing.

It will be interesting, the Baxter mn the gander will be the premier store they are saying. So we have gander store, next to that a camping world then next to that a Overton store lol

I wonder if the "Gander" name kind of tarnished the name of it. I've only been into a few of the new "Gander" stores and 2 were in the exact same building /w the same layout and style. A complete makeover, at least aesthetically indoors, could have done wonders.

IMO Sportsmans Warehouse has them all beat. They stock quality products that are name brand, not the house brand stuff like you see at bass pro. Quality gun selection too.

Just saw this sunday a new tackle shop opened in Kokomo, have to check it out. Tired of shopping at Rural King for my crankbaits !

I believe you are right. When the Gander mountain in Corsicana, Texas was still open they had an overtons section in the store.

I have a buddy that works for them in the service department. Said the 1st of the year they came out and cut everyone's pay a pretty good amount.

I remember several years back a friend of mine bought a Gander Mt. branded over and under shotgun for his daughter so she could start shooting trap. the next year he wanted to trade it in for a Browning Citori as she really liked shooting, Gander Mt. wouldn't take their own branded shotgun on trade.

I've never been in one. From what I see in camping and rv forums and Facebook pages, camping world has the worst reputation possible among rv owners.

That is not what he said! This is around the time of the Charlottesville rally. He said anyone who agrees with what has been said recently (in reference to the support of white supremacy) should not shop at his business.

Please get facts straight before announcing on a forum, that is how lies and misinformation get spread unfairly.
