    Trailer Wood

I have a 5x10 steel utility trailer that needs its wood plank floor replaced. What type of wood planks should i use? Don't think normal treated lumber would be best cause of a reaction to steel frame? What do you guys think?

I might use SYP because it's cheapest.

You can find oak at a local sawmill but when I did my utility trailer two years ago I just used SYP. Only been two years but it is good so far.

Southern Yellow Pine. Basically, just framing lumber.

You can cut some strips of bituethane (Ice & Water Shield or self-adhesive window flash membrane) and stick it to the steel to isolate it. I'd use 5/4" treated decking or 1" green oak planks if the crossmembers are 24" or closer.

Spray on Plastic Dip applied to trailer frame. Two coats. KDAT wood.

Ordered 11 2x8 MSR SYP planks today from Menards. Should be here in a week, then the fun begins.
