At what point is long enough?

I dropped 2 dozen hats off at the local embroidery company two weeks ago. I was told prior it takes 4 business days max. She already had my logo digitalized so I know that isn’t the Hold up. I texted her after a week and she said she had a large order come in that had to be done. Texted two days later and was told she would text me when they were ready and there was no need in me texting her for updates. How long is enough? I don’t want to be that guy but if I put a certain timeline on something if I have to work 16hr days to get it done, that is what I’ll do.

You were told 4 days and its been 2 weeks? I would go by and get my hats and never darken the door of the place again. Especially after she replied with you don't need to text me for updates. Your order is not big enough for her to fool with so she is working on it when she has nothing else to do. Go get your hats.

No excuse for that long of a wait when you were quoted 4 days. Go get your hats.

Should have told her they were samples for a 10000 hat order.

. With her work ethic she probably would have turned it down for sure then. I told her if I like these I will be ordering 200-300 hats from her. Most people don’t want to work anymore. There content with barley scraping by.

A large order will always take precedence over a small order. A large repeat customer will always take precedence over a small sporadic customer. Doesn't matter the business, that's the way it is. Doesn't make it right, just the way it is.

I left an outboard block to be bored and honed at a prominent marine engine builder. Was even buying the pistons and other parts from the shop. Was promised the block in one week. Finally after three weeks or so they finished my block. The engine builder received an order to rebuild ten high performance auto engines. They did not work on auto engines, however my single, one time outboard engine took a back seat.

    Just the way it is.

I disagree. Crank them out in the order received.

I agree do them in the order you take them and let the customer know a reasonable time otherwise they will find someone that will.

Disagree. Do that and the large repeat customers will go elsewhere. Just like bass fishing, the little fish get the least attention.
