Ice Out 2019 Reports. Are the lakes thawed in your area of Michigan?

Hello everyone. Just wondering if the lakes are thawed yet in your area. Please post a report for your area.

Here's mine for the Detroit River. The river is open but we still have ice in the canals. I'm seeing a few walleye guys out there. Water is still very cold, in the 30's. 3/23/19

Bought my season launch pass for nine mile ramp yesterday. Swung by Blossom Heath and it is still iced in all the way from the launch to the lake.

I was at Lake Drive Marine yesterday and Coldwater Lake is wide open water. Here in Livingston County the lakes are open off the shore but the ice is still in the center. Another week and I suspect they will completely open up.

In the Montcalm and Kent county area they’re still ice fishing. The 10 day forecast looks very promising though.

Baseline in the Portage Chain of lakes is open along with Ford Lake.
I have heard that Belleville is also open but I haven't put my eyes on it yet.

Up north there is currently about a 20-30 inch lid on all the lakes. Gonna be a while before we see soft water

It was rocking and rolling today with a stiff SSW wind. It's going to be muddy for at least a few more days, and the SCR keeps dumping dirty water into the lake as well. By the weekend with a little sun, there should be some shallow spots in the low to mid 40's for water temp. SCR is up to 38 degrees already. It's going to be an early spring.
