Gear oil leaking from top "screw"

Yesterday I noticed a small drop of gear oil on the skeg of my 200 SHO. It's leaking from the top screw. I removed the screw and a small amount of oil came out. The boat has been serviced and I've had it out a month ago and it has sat covered for a month. No leaks until yesterday. I've washed and waxed it a couple times on nice days and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed a leak. Any ideas on why it suddenly decided to drip? Thanks!

Well..anyway...I just put new “gaskets” on the fill and vent plug. The ones I was given are black and the ones I replaced were a rusty red color. Maybe that will help.

That should do it..have to be either screw was loose or bad gasket. Maybe they used the old gasket when they did the service. Your supposed to use new gaskets when ever you change the gear oil.
