    2005 Merc 200HP

I am buying a bass cat boat with a 2005 Merc 200HP motor. Just wondering what I need to run for oil and also do you guys recommend a fuel additive?

JM, check out the Mercury Motor forum on here. Great information from people in the know.

A quick answer to your question, I would run the Mercury Synthetic Blend oil and the Quick Kleen as an additive.

Need to find out if it a EFI or DFI or Optimax motor . Like the list above use the Mercury Quickleen and Quickcare 1 oz to 5 gals of gas every fill up .
In my EFI i run Pennzoil Premuin Plus .....but if it a Optimax you need to run the DFI oil in it . which both is a blend oil.

I'll second the Penzoil Plus if it's an EFI motor. I have a 2004 EFI 200 and I've found Penzoil puts out significantly less smoke than other brands.
