    Fish finder setup help

Just got my own bass boat and looking to be able to get depth on plane at higher speed. I have the echomap plus 93sv and that ducer on my jackplate. I need an in hull transducer and still deciding between the gt8 or gt15

Also how do I go about working these together? Does my graph automatically swap to the in hull when I go on plane or will I have to do something special like tell it to swap to the IH?

One more question: I plan on adding another echomap in the very near future but need to know the best way to wire all 4 of these in together?

You might want to post this in the Garmin Sonar/GPS forum for more specific information regarding the GT options. The guys over there know the Garmin equipment well.
I installed a 93+with the GT8/GT 30 option. You don't have to tell the unit which transducer to use it will do it automatically. You may want to search that forum for information on networking the plus units together, and the advantages between the 2 IH transducers. I'm not sure if the plus units share transducers.

Did you post this on one of the FB group pages??? Seems like i saw it last night???

To get speed on plane you will need to place your existing ducer at the bottom of hull (at the pad) like a skimmer ducer.....if you fish stump filled lakes, sooner or later it will get knocked off.....

In my opinion, you need to removed that ducer and buy the GT8/15 - GT30 ducer combo. It will come with a Y cable that you plug both ducers up to and then to back of unit. The GT8/15 is 2d sonar while the GT30 is side/down image only. I have the GT15/GT30 seupt on my boat. Great combo. I think the big difference in the 8/15 is the cone is wider on the 8. The 8 is a lot smaller ducer also. Your graph should reconized the ducers but if not, then just pick the combo in the list. That is it.....

As for wiring, if you dont have a fuse box or extra spaces on an existing fuse box, i'd suggest adding a new fuse box, with a on/off switch at your dash so you can cut power to the fuse box when not in use and of course each unit would connect to the fuse block.

Look at link below....i have some links to parts and pics on what i did on my boat.
