Would you buy a leftover Opti or get the 4 stroke?

With some deep discounts on new boats with the opti, what is your opinion on that purchase or holding out for the new 4 stroke?

The opti is definitely the better buy from a $ standpoint.

I wouldn't hesitate on buying the time tested two stroke.

If I’m buying new, 4 stroke.

2 STROKE. Love em. Better fuel economy also.

That may or may not be the case, depending on how the operator drives (and how it's set up).

Me personally- I would be ordering a 4-stroke. And I'd keep running my Optimax until that 4-stroke hit the water.

Price difference put the 2 stroke in my garage. I can buy a lot of oil and gas for the savings I found and the fish will have no idea.

The pocketbook would make that decision for me. I sure would like to have a new 300R but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to wait a year.

I bought my new boat last August after the 4 strokes hit the market... I wanted a 2 stroke so I pulled the trigger on a new boat and motor before I had planned... I'll let some other guys work out the bugs on the 4 strokes before I take the plunge... Dan

I run a 98 mercury 225 EFI. I’ve had it since 2003. Took the oil injector off and mix it 50 to 1. I’ll fix it until it doesn’t work anymore. It’s thirsty but keeps on running. I keep it because it’s just such a good motor. Could I buy a new motor. Absolutely. If I were making big runs I would get something that burned less gas. But until then.....

The market is obviously going 4 stroke, but I love my pro XS 2 stroke!
