I just purchased a Pantera II and it has a DF175 on it and it is spinning a 16in. 24.5 Pitch prop to the limiter. Do you guys think I can turn a 26P Promax since it is a smaller diameter prop?

I believe those Suzuki's have a 2.50:1 gear ratio, so yeah, you should be able to turn it. Hell, you may be able to turn a 28P.

We have no experience with that application, though we do know that is a good engine.
My experience with the new Zuks are they are able to spin a prop a pitch or two pitches higher than Merc or Yammies do to the lower unit gearing. We set up a different rig with a 150 Zuk and he can spin a 25p to limiter and a 27p to right around 5800. They’re beasts.
Good info guys! Keepem comin!!!
I'd love to have a sabre with 175 zuke!!!!
Well guys I tried a couple props yesterday and I spun a 28 Promax to the limiter at 61mph and a 29 Bravo to the limiter at 59mph? I'm guessing the smaller diameters on those than my current 16in prop. I may try one of the Zukes 16in 27.5P next...?
