Older 9 series TM mount questions

Considering going to an older 9 series on my bow just for the lakemaster chip use. Do I have to buy a new ducer for is there a mount for the TM? Thanks.

Humminbird units are shipped with a transom mount transducer, most of the older unit's transducers are not suitable for trolling motor attachment due to RFI issues. There are trolling motor puck versions available for 2D, DI, and SI models.

Pucks extra internal shielding.

Just depends on exactly which older 9 series unit you get.
Transom transducers that are suitable for trolling motor attachment can be adapted using a Humminbird trolling motor mount or a third party mount like Transducer Shield and Saver.

It is a 997ci with external gps puck.

The 997's standard transducer is suitable for trolling motor attachment.
