help an old man out... bow mount

so technology has flown was past me.. just picked up an old bug boat, need to update it... I am looking for best bang for the buck graph to mount up front.. I like humminbird, the boat has an older 1197 on the rear. I would like to spend less than $1000.00
There are so many options, its overwhelming.. your .02 please.

Ten years later, and many $$$ spent, Im not sure I wouldnt be just as happy with my 1197 at this point in time. Its only fault was the refresh rate for the GPS. I could easily outrun the coverage. I have a Helix 12 Si gen 1 on my bow, and a solix 12 on my console now. Yes, its a nice setup, but I still liked my 1197, and 1198 as much as anything..
