i have owned my 1999 tr 21 since 2003 it has had a 1999 mercury 225 efi untill now. i have purchased a 2010 mercury 250 sport xs with 348 hours. my questions are. the boat has a 6" manual jack plate. should i put something different on it? if hydraulic what size? the 250 has a sport master 1.62 gear case which i will have to change. should i go with1.75 torque master gear case?gen 1- or gen 2 (wingmaster)? i am currently running a 25 trophy on the efi 5650rpm 70 mph. thanks for any advice. jason

You want a Gen 1 Torque master with 1.75 gears and an 8" or 10" hydraulic plate. You'll probably end up running a 27" prop tempest or trophy.
