    New Solix 15 and 12

Picking up the new boat tomorrow with a Solix 15 and 12. I'm not new to Humminbird (coming from a 1198) but I am new to the Solix series. What are your best tips for setups and learning the new Birds? Thanks

That they are. I've been watching them a lot. Just looking for those little things that might be out there. Can never have to much info! Thanks

Do you have lakemaster? Once you get the range rings set up, I use 2 rings at 60' each, and then do your depth highlight and range you can eliminate a lot of dead water on the lake. Justin Lucas has a video on wired2fish.com that was helpful for that.

I'll be getting it soon. Deciding on which one to get. Why the 2 rings?

I echo the YouTube how-to videos. Some are pretty basic but there are a lot of nuggets there.

I also came from the 1198 as well and the interfact is totally different so there is definitely a significant learning curve. I read the entire manual a couple of times before I ever started using it an then read it again after several trips. It's worth investing the time though... A great unit.
