    FICHT Reed Cages

I have a 150 Fast Strike and I have been looking into doing the switch to the FICHT reed cages and Boyesen reeds but I am having difficulty finding the cages themselves. Does anyone know where I could find them or what the part number would be that I should be searching for? I know this probably will not give me more speed but I understand that it should idle nicer with a little more punch. Thanks in advance for any help!

You may be better off looking for a motor that is being parted out for the cages. They were used from 1997 to 2006 on the 60* motors.

Here is the part number for the assembly 0437591

ChampioNman, thank you for the info and part #
JoePA, I am not sure but I believe that the 225 is a 90 degree motor so I am guessing they would not work. Thanks!

Thanks, I just picked the set up from Toonabasser but hopefully j risco can get them.

Juanclemons, my understanding is that they flow much more air than the original fast strike cages. I’m already running low 70’s with a stock 150 so if I pick up a mph or two that would be cool but we idle a fair bit and my understanding is that they idle smoother. Perhaps some more midrange punch too which would be nice. I believe I will need to re-jet the carbs a bit richer too. I’ve built small block v8’s but haven’t ventured into the 2 stroke realm much so it’s all new to me.

1997 on an Allison XB 2003. I coned the lower, speed didn’t change of course but I was able to raise the motor so it was easier to drive.
