You are not kidding!
My truck and boat are both late model but the stuff I am seeing is in another league, and it's not just the trucks it's the boats too.
On another note the lake was Clear Lake and "other anglers" weighed a 30 pound bag both days.
I was surprised that my bags in the low 20's were not even close to being competitive, this lake is simply amazing.
Delta and Clear Lake are bucket list trips...I WILL get there.
That’s why I have an 06 that I don’t care to repair when it needs repaired. Much cheaper than a new one.
I don't own a boat, therefore I don't have a truck/suv…
Always like looking at boats and think I could pull it off for the monthly payment... and then realize I would need a new to me tow vehicle..
Google Akins Ford in Winder, GA. They are a huge dealer and a good gauge of what one can be bought for.
My 2018 F-150 (gas) was discounted $12,000 when I purchased it last July.
You can buy a truck for under 40k. You choose to add another 40k in options.
It used to bother me what people would pay for trucks and boats and now it doesn't. My boat is "old" but paid for with ~160 hours on it and a lifetime hull warranty. My truck is "old" as well being a 2015 but is one I bought new and its paid for with 23K on it. I'm sure there are alot of guys who can easily afford new of both but I bet there are more who can't. To each his own....

If I were in the market, I would be looking at at a 1 or 2 year old garage queen and save yourself major bucks. They can be found, and when you do. Be ready to move quickly. That's what I did. Bought myself a Sierra Denali with only 5000 miles on it. Hardly broken in!

I've got a 2011 boat and a 2015 f250 both top of the line and paid for , I love to look at others new rigs but just can't pull the trigger on a new unit .
I've been truck shopping for the last few weeks and have found a TON of 2018 and 2019 trucks, of all brands... between $35 and $40k. I drive a 2008 Tundra that is still in like new condition, except for the 146k miles on the odometer and have been trying to decide what to get next. I think I have it narrowed down to two or three, an exact replacement of what I have now in the Tundra, a 2019 F150 with the Eco-boost that was listed for $37k, and a 2018 Chevy Silverado that is still new and reduced to $35k. I'm planning to take the rest of the week off and test drive each one before I make my final decision but I hope to come home with one of the three sometime later this week.

I think (and that’s scary sometimes) a lot of these guys running the high dollar rigs are able to write them off on income tax. I have a realtor buddy that buys a new Platinum Ford every 2 years just for the write off. I might be wrong though, could just be everyone makes a hell of a lot more than I think they do!
I bought an xlt a few months ago, which is a lot of money to me and a smartass here made a comment about “only being an xlt”. I don’t understand the allure for these expensive trucks.
Lots of ways to make things work. See those projector headlights on my rig? Those aren't supposed to work with my truck. Just need the right harness and Bam your good. I also added the Tesla Style radio 12in touch screen. Looks factory and works great.
I can honestly say, I dunno what else I would want or need. It has a trailer brake, Jake brake, rear camera and front camera. I pay cost for the lift, and wheels. Install of everything was free labor by me. I have maybe 5k into it in extras. so 45k for everything. Not a bad looking rig for that price.
