ranger z520 automatic bilge pump question

Hi my auto bilge is staying on and not shutting off. It is 9 years old. What is the recommended auto bilge for a Z520? Are they "connected" in currently or hard wired? If so what is the best way of connecting a new bilge pump considering the wet environment they are in? thanks

SOunds like the float switch is hung up. Probably dirty from being in the bottom of the bilge. Usually you can clean them up/out and they will be fine. BUT it could also be a bad wire. You'll have to just get in there and check it out. Not difficult, just some time.

should "plug in/out" with a Deutsche connector. Plug and play. Call the Ranger parts dept.

Those should be Rule pumps, and usually you can just pull off and replace the top [cartridge] part. If you purchase from Ranger or a Ranger dealer, it will come with a quick-connector that plugs right into the wire without tools.
