    Lake Guntersville 1st trip results

We just returned yesterday from Guntersville Lake and found it to be quite a fishery compared to lakes around Missouri and Illinois. We stayed in the Waterfront Bay area, but made the 9 mile track & launched each day in the Goose Pond area and fished around there and up to Roseberry Creek. We had 2 boats and in 4 days of fishing caught 41 keepers. Nine over 4lb & one over 5. We didn't catch any giants, but the quantity of 4 - 5lb fish was quite impressive. We probably caught about an equal amount of short fish too. We only had one day, Thursday, with heavy winds that kept us from getting out on the main channel where most of our fish were caught. Our guide trip with Tim Chandler on Monday was cut short due to the storms coming through on Monday afternoon, but we did learn enough from him in the morning to make the trip a success. We will definitely return next spring and probably look to stay up closer to the Goose Pond area as we are now familiar with that part of the lake. That is quite a fishery you all have down there!

I came back yesterday from Guntersville and it was starting to turn on. My last day we caught several but kept our best 5 to weigh at the end of the day. We ended the day with over a 21 lb bag.
