    Atlas or Bobs Jackplate

Curious to see what the general consensus is about whether the Atlas jackplate or Bobs Hydraulic jackplate is better. Some say the Bobs is faster, aside from that are there any other reasons why it might be a better choice? If it makes a difference I’d be lookin at getting a 6” for a 20TRX Triton with a 250 Evinrude G2

I have had both. My Atlas does not have enough power to lift my motor when I am running WOT. Other than that, it has been fine. Atlas is std equipment on many rigs, so I did not have a choice.

Bob’s or Sea Star are much better plates than Atlas.

You have a bad pump then and should call them.

Bobs, for the simple fact when I had a Bob on my old Ranger, I needed a gauge,I called them they answered the phone answered all my questions and sent the parts. On my Atlas no response even from E-mail, there ordering online is horrible, customer assistance with TH Marine is non existent. They do not support their products.

anyone had an Atlas "shudder" to the point that it vibrates the whole boat when going up or down?
I don't have one but know a guy that said he has this problem and he said there is no way to grease the travel areas on the plate.
was something I was curious about since I would like to have a Hydraulic plate but was told not to buy an atlas because of this, so I was just curious what you all have seen with this

I've only owned Detwiler and Atlas. The Atlas has been problem free for 6+ years so far. The Detwiler went down twice on me over 8-years.

My only experience is with Bob's and Detwiler. Detwiler sucked, have had Bob's on two different boats and never had a problem.

Bob's on the last 4 boats with the pump located in the service well. All of them have functioned flawlessly. Get the gage and hole shot plate.
