    Help with my prop Spare

Hey guys I have a 2004 250 hpdi . I bought the boat used and it launches pretty good and fast enough . It’s my first boat so not sure it should be running any better and I don’t know if it’s the original prop.

the prop says it’s a 25 TI 15 1/8 . I’m not sure what kinda prop that is or if it is vented or not. Any recommendations for a back up prop? I know it’s a pretty open ended question

boat is a 521vx and it may get talons on it .

If it runs good with 25T1, get another one, or a 25 Tempest is a cheaper backup.
What RPM’s/speed do you run with the T1?

My 03 hpdi i run a 27p t1 (t1 is a yamaha prop) usually, 28p t1 is my speedy spare. Both worked by croxton. You will gain quite a bit of speed with the 27. Holeshot with full livewells on the 28p suffers a bit. If it was me id look for a 27p t1 and run it. Also, to tell if its vented it will have notches (holes) on the prop against the lower unit. That motor should have a vented prop.

I’ll have to see what the rpms are at wot. The fastest I got it was 67 I think. But it gets on plane quick. Does the 25 plane faster and the high number like the 27 get more top end speed ?

Yes. But my best all around prop is the 27p. Like i said with a 28p its fast. But you lose some holeshot. I still have good take off with the 27p. But with full livewells the 28p doesnt jump right up. The best all around is the 27p t1 for my 03 250hpdi. 25p holeshot is great but you should gain close to 8 mph going from a 25p to a 27p t1.
