Perpendicular works for me Jax. I remember winning a bass club tournament in the 90's with a black grape powder blue tail. Crazy day

I used to throw the Culprit paddletails back in the day to good effect, T-rigged, perpendicular.

I tried these in the past, never had much luck with them. How do use guys retrieve them, a slow swim right off the bottom?

The ways I use them is pitch to cover, hop on bottom, swim, or buzz on top. All of those catch me fish.

Perpendicular and I use them to hop off the bottom of for falling between pads. Paddle tail worms, to me, are most effective on the fall. They will vary which way they fall and kinda hunt for you as opposed to falling straight down.
