New to me 919 set up...?

Picked up a new to me 919, Merc 225, 25P fury 3, twin Blades, this week. Took it for a ride before I bought it and the boat is a handful around 70 and felt to me like it had very little bow lift. Previous owner said the fastest he ever got it was 72, RPM print out shows or has never been over 5700 RPMs. Previous owner says they never messed with set up, so I figured from my research I would het it home raise the JP an inch and let her fly... I was really surprised when I found the P to P to be right at 2”.

I know that every boat is different, but should I start by moving the plate further up or drop it a bit?40E516CC-926E-4129-B83D-91C2D5E9F615.jpeg

It's too high which explains the lack of bow lift. Try dropping it down to 3 1/4 below the pad. This should pick up your speed and lift with a load...

Yep. Actually, Angler’s Port set mine at 3 1/4” just as John recommends, and she’ll run 76-77 in the wintertime. Plenty of lift. She’ll run 74 all day in the heat of the summer with 2 guys and a ton of tackle.
