Looks like possibly a 176. Does the owner have the title handy? It should have the length or model on it. In 90 there was also a 168 which I think was only available in a single console, and a Mean 15.

What is the max rated horse power? Can't tell a lot from that angle. Looks like it is well kept whatever model it turns out to be.

The boat is on consignment on a lot They don't have the title. It has a 150 fast strike on it. It looks too short to be a 184...

If it's a 1990, the 17'6" & 18'4" were available with dual console and both were rated for a 150hp outboard. As Reggie noted the 16'8" and 15'6" were not available in DC.

    Pretty sure 184's got a 175 HP rating. I owned a 1989 184DC w/175 Mariner. It was a little hot rod in it's day.

Thanks for all the replies. What top speed do you think both the 176 and 184 would obtain with that 150 Fast Strike.? My boat now is underpowered by 50 hp. So looking for some speed on next boat...

The 150 FastStrike was a strong engine. I had a 1997 Champion 186 with a 150 FastStrike, would run mid sixties. It was set up with 5.5" JP, 25 Renegade worked by DAH->, 3.75 PTP, 5550-5700 rpm. Ran that engine for ten years.

184 was rated for a 175, looks like a 176 to me. If 150 HP rated then its 176.

Any inputs on how the 176 performed with the 150 Fast Strike would be appreciated. Or in general anything about the 176. I would imagine it would perform well.

One of my favorite Champ hulls. Very sporty and quick for what it is. 86 inch beam 17'6 150 rated. With a fast strike you'll see 60 or better properly rigged. I helped Bruce Phillips set his up a few years ago (135 Merc) and just had a blast with it. There's a video if it somewhere.

My 181 with fastrike will run 61gps with trophy plus (4 blade) so that at least is close to what 176 should run . Could prob get lil more with a 3 blade but i am fine with my setup
