Question Gotta give up on transducer shield don’t i?

Moved it forward, back, etc and couldn’t figure out why my helix compact si transducer was giving me blurred images like no other. After somewhat frustrating couple of days at guntersville I noticed the side of the transom notch lined up perfectly with the transducer and causes wicked interference. 7A398371-363C-49C2-8EE5-EF983DEA0A46.jpeg

Can’t go inside as top of shield overlaps inner plate on jack plate. Could maybe get longer barrel spacers to move out but that just (1) looks silly and (2) likely too weak to hold up under any stress.

As I don’t have any intention of mounting a hole shot plate, I guess the question now begs, do I get a mounting board and throw back over on side at transom skinner style or shove this thing up under the notch/setback? Can’t go under setback since does not run full width of transom. I do have a 83/200 in bilgesnd y cable, just haven’t gotten around to messing around with on plane readings yet. Ideas/info would be greatly appreciated.

My dad finally biting the bullet and getting a helix 7 for his older bass boat so at least I have a ready and willing donation for the transducer shield.

Again I appreciate info and flame away on my diy jobs!

Sorry forgot to check my own durn post replies. Boat sitting in storage at dad’s (minus guntersville trip couple weeks ago) so no screenshot available today. While suffice to say the interference is indeed wicked, I expect to pick it up tomorrow to run up to brookville this week for some tourney pre-fishing and get in-hull transducer placed correctly. I will post pictures of jack plate mounted and will also move transducer on to the transom clamp bracket I have sitting in garage. That one I know gives great images once set in right spot but is obviously temporary.
