    Battery Compartment

Anyone ever measure the Port side battery compartment on a 20'er? I'm wanting to drop my 2 group 31's in favor of a 24v lithium and the battery's length is 21.5 inches front to back. My boat had the auxilary fuel tank so has the front partition in that compartment.

That extra tank takes up a little bit of room if I remember right, I had two in my first 21XDC Bullet, but I don't know the dimensions, sorry, call Tom, he should be able to find out

Only if you dont NEED that 76lbs like i do. Lithiums would slow me down

I got a 36v and a 12v lithium batterie in my 20xd. Although there’s a bunch of positives, there’s also some negatives. I lost a bunch of bow lift, I had to get my props re worked, your running a 2.5L which is way lighter then my 3L. I would think it would hurt your boat more then mine. also if I’m going fishing alone my passenger side lifts like crazy. Which is anoyying

For top speed runs it hurts more then helps, but it did help my tournament load top speed, I just gotta be way more careful where I put my gear. If you load the front to much it won’t lift the bow, if you don’t put enough weight on the passenger side it will lift

With my 2 group 29’s and my 150lb tourney partner i need his tackle, 25lbs lead shot under his seat, and 2 45lb freeweights to balance my boat to run fastest in a tourney. I cant think of any bullet ive messed with since 99 that would benefit from lithiums and actually not be hurt pretty bad just like my man hyperflow has described. Lots of work to compensate for that weight in the back corner. Ive found if you lose 60 in the battery compt you gotta add 100 farther up and then you gotta lift that 100 with your prop and more setback

All this info is well and good for some....but you know I'm an old renegade!!!!
1st I heard you can't run triple digits with power poles because of all the extra weight....Then some says that balance is not "the whole deal" on a bullet....Now, it's loosing weight will slow you down???
I'll loose my 76 pounds on the back side and be a happy camper, if nothing else, it offsets the poles, and besides that, WEIGHT is HP in any boat!!!
BTW, I carry enough gear to fix my 250#'s of azz setting in the driver's seat.
I still haven't got an answer to the OP?

Thanks for the input Hyp and Alli!!
Alli, I've decided to go with 2 smaller ones in parallel instead of the 1 big one so measurements will not be needed. I will measure while the batts are out though, for future reference!!
This is what I have now on Port with the 2- group 31's just out's site and a group 31 in the port storage for cranking.
I'm hoping to get all 3 Lith's in this battery compartment!!

Which if I may ask, are you using for cranking, I'm having a hard time finding one rated for cranking!

One of those companies make a 100 lithium that people use for cranking

I'm running a lithium pro 12V 80ah cranking (i dont think they make it anymore) Its 1200 CA.

Take my advise or not, dont matter. But if id have to do it again i wouldn't get a cranking lithium. Would just get the 36V trolling. It hurt more then it helped.
