    Making My Head Spin

First off, i'm in no way a tech geek. Bought a new Helix 12" gen2 mega chirp...all the bells and whistles. Been having a problem with my DI and had a heck of a time figuring it out. There's so many menu's and pages on this thing my head is spinning. Finally had to change transducer setting or frequencies or something. Seems to be working now but I'm not sure about the settings. I need a cheat sheet to keep in my boat so I know how to set the SI and DI up..

    Guess I'll read the manual

I looked there, a lot of info but not a lot on transducer setting for DI and SI that I could find.

I played with my new Garmin using the manual to see what every adjustment did until it was totally hosed up then did a full reset. There are only a couple things I have changed since. I agree that they can be overwhelming at times.

Did you look through the two HB forums on sonar and imaging?

I can tell you that most of the gurus will tell you to reset to default, that the factory settings are pretty close. If I can help shoot me a message, I've got 3 10's on the boat. I look good but cannot catch a fish to save my soul this year.

Can't speak for HB but there is a wealth of info for Lowrance on YouTube. It has been a great help for me.

I can give knowledge on the new HDS live units, the side imaging is pure junk and Lowrance has no clue why or how they are going to fix the issue.

That's good to know about the HDS live...I am going to upgrade in a little bit...looks like I'll probably stick with HB.

Gerald Swindle is still running helix and I saw a video he made that I think will help you out, I’ll see if I can find it and send it to you. If I can’t I’ll message him and see if he will send it to me.

Lowrance is having an issue and trying to fix, I know a few others that think it’s the best ever. They are good to try a few things and if it don’t work I’ll be putting my carbons on.

Stompy, sometimes I just sit in my boat and stare at my new Lowrance. It has more bells and whistles than I will ever figure out...and the stupid thing is always wanting me to update something or other.
