    Attempt at Gizzard Shad Spinnerbait

Lake I fish is gin clear with no forage other than shad--threadfin and gizzard. Been thinking that solid white spinnerbaits may be too loud. Poured a couple on Sunday and painted the heads gray with a little glitter. Tied this skirt last night. I guess we will see if it works on Saturday. In real-life it is not as dark as it appears in the picture.

Hoping the single willow will stay down deeper and be a little more subtle than twins.

I don't see anything wrong with that bait. I hope it whacks them.

Sorry to bother you on this but can you give me the color code? I looked at their site and cannot find this color.

I use a lot of shad colored skirts for clear water as I think they look more natural than solid white. Here is a chatterbait that I made in a shad color which I also poured the trailer to match.

Allen, what colors are in your skirt? I use one called "backbone green" that is nice but not on a full skirt. The colors on yours are subtle but they still show up, I have some plain smoke but it is a little too dark and I can find a plain smoke that is lighter in color or without a lot of flake. I also have a good amount of "mouse" and it has a lot of green crystal, too much for a subtle baitfish pattern.
