    Mounting bolts

Getting ready to install plate engine back on, man,no clearance for bolts on anything. Top cap hits, jack plate hits when trying to slide bolts in, hmm

Slide the bolts through the jackplate then put the jackplate to the transom. Put the nuts on the inside of the hull.

I had to put them inside on top, really close. I cut new stainless channel, used grade nine eco guard bolts. I just put all nuts outside, was virtually impossible to install other way. But these grade 9 9/16 fine thread bolts won't go anywhere i can assure you. After I bought those I wondered why I didn't get ARP to make me some 260,000 PSI bolts. I have had them make some before and those dudes are bad to the bone.....

I got my bolts changed, jack plate to hull, 9/16 x 18 grade 9 eco-guard, torqued to 80FT.LBS. That was super tight by the way. Those bolts call for 120ftlbs. Don't think transom will handle that, or it didn't sound like it would....

basically the splash well is removed and supporting material is added to the splashwell area above top 2 transom bolts and then its tied in to the top cap and transom.....transom can be checked with the motor tilted up and bouncing on the motor you can see if it has any flex
