1996 209 te w/ 200 promax efi on the big gambler jackplate: 4 Blade Prop

Currently have a 3 Blade 25 Tempest on it, and seem to deal with handling issues in turns, high speeds, etc that after reading seem to be more prevalent on the g-boats than with a 4 blade. New to performance boats and fairly ignorant to props, so that's the punch line i have gathered from reading numerous threads so far. I'm ok if i lose some top end, as i'm on a relatively curvy river most of time so holeshot and handling are my clear priorities

Any thoughts on a good starting point for a 4 blade, type and size? Bravo1, bravo1xs, trophy, etc?? 26 or 28?

Thank you in advance for your time

    Speed - 25p Trophy. Best all round - 24p Fury4.

I’m not sure anything would be gained with a Bravo I on a 2.5 200 Promax on a 209. The best all around solution is likely the TROPHY imho. If your turning the 25 Tempest at least 5,800 I would try the trophy in the same pitch. You should be able to find one on the BBC prop board for $300 +/-

I tested both a 26” & 28” Bravo on my 209 w/225 ProXS 3.0L. 26 wasn’t enough... 28 was too much. Either of them could have been tweaked and would have “worked” but... they weren’t going to be any better than the 25 & 27 Trophies I was running at the time. And all of that was on a 3.0L... 2.5... I don’t think so.
