When do you think ice out will be in the metro area

Let’s hear what everyone thinks will be the official ice out this year in the cities. Seeing this weather forecast for the next week really gets my hopes up.

The extended forecast looks decent for melting ice. Need more days over 50 with nights above freezing.

Could be a quick thaw. With the rain over the next few days and I'm seeing the Metro hit 50 a week from Friday. I'm sure it'll tease us with a warmup and then plummet until April like it always seems to.

If the ice is gone by the 5th on Rainy, I will be pleased. I'm guessing out on the opener.

Can't you fish it before opener since it's a boarder water? I know a lot of guys are already talking about getting up there like it's going to happen next week!

I think the first week of April is when a lot of the metro lakes start going. I think Tonka will go sometime early the second week.

The Rainy River might be open, but not the lake.

Ah, that makes sense....I'm hoping second week in April the lakes in the cities will be open. Just picked up my boat today. Have a new HB to rig up and that's about it. Hoping for warm weather, rain, and wind over the next week or two!

I could see Cannon/Wells in Faribault from the air yesterday on a return flight. The western part of Cannon was open, the eastern side was still iced over, and all of Wells was open. It helps there is current that runs through both of them, but it's a start!

I'm glad I was off by a week, most stuff is open around me or should be soon. This rain should finish anything left off.
