    Just curious

Why do bullets have the trolling motor straight down the front instead of at an angle. I think I’ve seen most straight.

That's the Tennessee mount. It is for better visiblity over the bow when running.

    It’s also less wind resistance.

Once you have it that way youll never go back to cookie cutter style mounting. Most think itll be in the way but its deployed when youre up there anyway. Cant think of why youd put one at an angle really.

Plus it doesn't cover up the beautiful nose on a Bullet.

All good reasons. After now using my first ever Tennessee mount for the last 2-3 months, I have no idea why other boat brands/owners wouldn't do it. I don't think there are any negatives

You can also get closer to the bank to retrieve a stuck bait without getting the t/m into rocks.

Less wind drag, better view while driving, blances the boat better, can get shallower.

This, and it’s actually easier to maneuver around stumps ect... once you get used to it. I’ve had it both ways, much prefer the straight mount.

I’ll put it this way ( most common folk) setup for fishing first. Us go fast kinda guys setup for speed first fishing second.

you can more rods on deck with cookie cutter mount.

Ive had Tennessee Mount break a couple of reels when pulling up trolling motor and having to many rods on that side.

on my bullet you can get around 3 rods on trolling motor side and 7 rods on driver side

I prefer the traditional. I think the tn mount looks silly and it eats up deck when stowed. It also makes it a pain in the ass when trying to flip off the passengers side

I guess I'm a cookie cutter since I've been mounting my tm's traditional style since the early 70's....I wouldn't have it any other way!!!
Since we're on this subject, does Bullet reinforce the port side of their decks that far back, like they do for the "cookie cutter" style mounting???
My deck has extra ply under the normal tm mounting area, just on the port side.

My boat is mounted Tennessee style and I hate it!! You always have to move rods to store it for running and you have to tie the rope so it don't get hung in hooks. To me, there are no advantages.

Ehh, you just gotta watch where your rods are when you drop it down. Can still strap just as many as the driver side. It’s all personal opinion, but I like it way better TN style
