    Banged the Blues Today

Partner and I got into some really nice gills. They were running hot from when we got there about 9am to about 2:30. Twixt the two caught well over a 100. Kept around seventy for old couple in their nineties that love fish.

We try and give them at least two good trips a year to stock their freezer. He was a good ice fisherman in his day but can no longer handle it.

Nothing like doing a good deed and having fun while at it.

Nice! So me being relatively new to ice fishing, how many of those do you typically want for a good sized meal for one person? I haven't gone out yet to specifically target pan fish for a meal, but I plan on doing that next ice fishing season.

I'll keep about 10 8-10" bluegills for a meal for my wife and I. When crappie fishing if I keep 5-7 crappies over 10" that will be enough for a meal and a half for her and I. Plus I get sick of cleaning fish after about 10 or so.
