Going tonight with the 13yo and 16yo, they are way into marvel movies. They are both good athletes and it’s nice to see them decompress from school-sports grind.

The leading actress keeps saying she doesn't want white males to go see her movie. My son and I will respect her wishes.

Wonder if she cares if her dad sees it?

I saw it. Not the best Marvel movie but still pretty entertaining. It was something to do till Endgame comes out!

I read her speech from yet another “pat ourselves on the back” Hollywood awards show. Her issue is with the fact white males dominate the film critics field. So, change it. No one is telling women, or anyone else, they can’t become a film critic. Just more “lack of inclusion, poor us” ramblings by a liberal, self absorbed Hollywood elistist who had the podium after getting an award from her like minded peers. If you don’t like the world you live and work in, change it and stop whining.

I’ll wait until it comes out on DVD, or on a streaming service I already pay for in a month, or so.

The idiocy continues. Her movie looked stupid anyway. Any movie where a woman goes around kicking men’s butts is fantasy anyway. Sorry princess. God made us the stronger sex, that’s reality. Most of us don’t get to live in fantasy land.

You should do a little search on her comments. She was talking about her Movie Wrinkle in Time. It was about how most movie critics are white men!

Trying to decide whether to take the kids or not. I know it's PG-13 but how's the language, adult humor, etc. compared to other Marvel movies? Most Marvel movies just have the violence and maybe 3 or 4 "bad" words throughout the movie. Ant-Man had a lot more rough language and Guardians of the Galaxy had a lot more language and adult humor.

IMDb gave it a 4.2/10 score because, well, the movie sucked. And I’m sure that’s a man’s fault too.

Yes. First, DC comics had their character but lost their rights to the name. Marvel started their's in the 60s...Mar-Vell. He is the first to beat Thanos in the comics. But that has been glossed over with this female character for the sake of the SJW crowd.

I won’t see it simply because of the picture above, when I was a teen reading that comic she was a he. I can just imagine it turning me off enough to be cynical at the movie.

Doesn’t matter when she said it....do you really think she feels differently now? Doesnt bother me what some quack Hollywood star says. They are some of the most screwed up people on earth, but I know of a lot of people that aren’t supporting her movie do to comments she has made.

not exactly....Fawcett comics had Captain Marvel 1st...they lost the trademark/copyright, and then DC comics jumped on it as Mar-Vell.

"Following a trial in which DC Comics sued Fawcett Comics for breach of copyright, claiming Fawcett's Captain Marvel was too similar to Superman, the latter stopped publishing Captain Marvel. In the late 1960s Marvel gained the trademark "Captain Marvel" with their first series."

There have been 7 different Captain Marvels over the years, and 3 of them have been female.

    There have been:
    Captain Marvel (fawcett comics)
    Mar-Vell / Captain Marvel
    Monica Rambeau
    / Captain Marvel
    Genis-Vell
    / Captain Marvel
    Phyla-Vell
    / Captain Marvel
    Khn'nr
    / Captain Marvel
    Noh-Varr
    / Captain Marvel
    Carol Danvers
    / Captain Marvel

and there is also 8 other alternate versions......of which at least 2 were also female

Too many to keep straight...whew.......I agree, I always thought Captain Marvel was male, but I was wronger than I thought........

    Nerd alert! Nerd alert!
Funny! I enjoy most of the new 'comic' movies and was a big fan of comic books when I was a kid. Had the second Spiderman comic book that I had saved that got tossed out in a 'purging' of 'stuff' some years ago. Never checked to see what it was worth. Don't want to know...
