    Texas Crappie Report

Hitting my local crappie lake in the morning with my son for the first time since October. I have brush piles put out all over. What depth do you guys recommend I start searching?? I've only fished for them in summer months and could use some guidance.

Around here they go shallow in early spring I always start in the channels we catch them right up against dock posts and fallen trees and shore stations.

I would start in 15' and work shallower.

Water here is 45-50 and they are shallow under 10 ft but they wont eat my roadrunner yet. Went yesterday and they wanted a jig sitting still.

Went today and got skunked. I fished all my brush piles, which are mainly 10+ feet of water. The water temperature was 55 degrees. My guess they have moved in shallow on the spawn. Will try again Sunday but switching up and going to his some creek channels and known spawn locations.
