Best time for small/largemouth st Lawrence

My grandson is tore up with bass fishing, I am taking him to buffalo this spring hopefully but I want to take him and his sister to st. Lawrence sometime late June to early August, never been there and would like to get him on both species, I have heard the frog bite can be good so that would be a blast for him, can anyone recommend a better time to be there in the timeframe I listed, unfortunately later in august or September will not work for us.

    thanks

Like k and k said ur golden end of June ....season is open don't have to worry about possible fines targeting bass out of season .......stay shallow less then 15 feet ....im sure some smallies will still be on beds and then for largies hit some slack water ....ur good !!
