Have a trip planned and was going to fish our last day that Friday. Will the lake just be runover with boats on the first day? What about people practicing that week? I am taking my 10 year old to try an get him a 5+. Was pumped til i found out this big tourny was fishing friday...

Guntersville is a very large body of water, but, the boats will be stacked up where the fish are. The BBS staging area is in Scottsboro. Last year, the Guntersville end wasn't horrible. Now, the fall Big Bass Tour was a different story. Either way, you and your 10yo should have a great time.

Add to that the BASS High School Southern Open on Sat. out of the state park. thats another 300 boats.
Poor lake gets pounded by tournaments. One marina at KY lake is thinking about banning summertime tournaments.
