How deep is the beauclear/appopka canal?

I've never been in the canal and was wondering how to run it ?

Last time I was there the entrance was the tricky part, all silted in with muck, don't stop!. but once you got in plenty of water for the first 1/2 mile then got real skinny by the bend (there is a park on the left).once you are past going under the bridge it's smooth sailing to Apopka. my advice would be idle untill you know depths.
