If you’d move away from all that hard water you could fish all winter.

I enjoy October and November because I bow hunt but after that I'm over it and want back on the water. My wife will never move because of family but I believe maybe sometime we will have a place some where warm through the winter months.

I fished all year when I lived up in Northern Illinois. Waded the rivers outside of Chicago catching Smallmouths year round. I remember one leg being in 33 degree water and the other in 60 degree water downstream from the treatment plants. Great times up there chasing Smallmouths on those rivers. Now I am getting older and it takes a little more for me to get out.

I also can fish all year long but I don't. Like Gary I used to go out in all conditions when I only had the weekends but now that I have 7 days a week and am much older I pick and choose when I go out. I'll probably go out this afternoon when the temp gets into the high 60's/low 70's. This is unusual weather for March.

Fishing has been fair the past few months but should pickup soon. I fished Toledo Saturday and Sunday in harsh conditions but maybe this weekend the fish will fire up. Last weekend there was a 14 pounder caught here

Well I went out yesterday (Wed) about noon, made a couple of passes and then started to fish. Air temp low 70's and water temp 51-53. Caught a nice crappie and decent white bass. Also had a few other bites pulling a bait thru bushes, I guess I need to refine my skills a little. Wind blew today and is scheduled to continue for a few days, we will see. If this happens I will be re-organizing part of my garage.
