Anyone fish on Sara? Looking to fish a weekend in April. Is there much grass/structure? How’s water clarity typically?

It's been a few years. Fun lake. Do you know you need a special permit to boat the lake that's rather pricey. If you stay at the resort on the lake, they'll include a boat permit though with your rental.

I live 15 minutes from the lake. It has quite a bit of grass, a bunch of riprap and lots of docks. The local fisheries committee has hinge cut a bunch of trees into the lake and dropped several large fish habitat structures into the lake. A permit is required ($25 for a 3 day permit, available at the Phillips 66 gas station located at the highway intersection where you turn off to go to the lake). There is also a $5 daily ramp fee to launch.

I'm from Effingham and this time of year on Lake Sara is really good. Lots of grass and normally clear but i'm not sure with all this rain lately. Let me know how it Goes!
Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it... Especially the Permit info.
