Hello, Today I aquired a 1986 Skeeter SF-140. The HIN number is STEP3132C686 which tells me it is a 1986 boat. It has the exact same layout and dimensions of the 1982 through 1985 SF-115. Does anyone know if the SF-115 was renamed the SF-140 in 1986?

No, different boat. SF-115 is 15.83' long and 83" beam. SF-140, which I can't find until '87 is 16.33' long and 85" beam.

I am looking at brochures from 1985 and 1986. 1985 has SF-115 Starfire and lists 16'4" Long, Max beam 85", 900lbs, 22" Transom Height, HP Range 75/120. 1986 Does not have Starfire models but lists a SF-140 with all same specs except HP range is 75-140. Identical layout. I am leaning toward this boat being a 1985 model manufactured in 1986 because it still has the Starfire Decals in several areas and the 1986 model does not. The HIN ends in C686. Side note, the SF-115 re-appeared in the 1987 brochure and the SF-140 was gone
