    Hooks for vision 110

Got some visions that need new hooks as the stock ones (I've never been really impressed with) are bent or broken.

What treble will maintain their intended action and suspension?

As shown above, size 6 gamakatsu g- finesse Aaron Martens treble. They're nearly identical in weight to the stock hook which is critical on the Visions.

6 on all 3 hooks is good to go?

Yes. Size 6 for all 3. But, depending on water temp and what you're looking for in your jerkbait, you can go to a size 5 or 4 on the front hook if you're looking for a nose down slow sink.

Here is a good write up on the hooks:

    Gamakatsu G-Finesse Treble Hooks

Another vote for the Aaron Martens G-Finesse trebles. These suckers are bad to the bone! Super sticky sharp and they maintain their sharpness for a long time; great strength too.

I replace all my hooks with KVD short shank #6. With copoly this will make the bait suspend as apposed to slow rise. With flouro it will very slow sink, but I would never use flouro on a jerkbait personally.

Why does a $25 jerkbait need upgraded hooks?

It doesn't......some just prefer to swap out the hooks. Personal preference is all.

You'll be very happy with the G-Finesse hook. With that being said, the stock hooks perform quite well too.

The stock hooks are light wire, intended for cold water and bass that bump and nip at the bait, hence the outbarbs. I replace most of mine or once they get worn (Great Lakes smallies tend to jack your sh*t up fairly quickly) I used the gama g finesse when they first came out. Make sure you get the light wire ones. A 6 in the back,5 in the middle and 6 in the front balance the bait perfectly and allow for better hook ups. 110+1’s I prefere a 6 in back,6 in middle and a 5 in front to help nose it down more to achieve maximum depth.

They’re a light wire and fragile. It doesn’t take much for them to bend out or break. I still fish my 110s with the stock hooks, but I have other trebles on me to change out when it’s needed.

I’m a fan of these too. Where do you get them in bulk? I’ve been buying them in regular packs at Tackle Warehouse.
