    No Bow Lift!!

2013 Mercury 150 ProXS with 3 blade 23" Tempest Plus cupped, and very little bow lift with loaded boat. Engine mounted on transom in middle holes, no jack plate or Power Poles. When trimming engine, I get a little lift and then a big rooster tail. Should I raise or lower engine, install jack plate, or re prop? Thanks for any help.

Install a jack plate and move all your heavy stuff to the rear compartments..

As mentioned on the TFF, check the hull for a hook in it. There were many made that developed them, not a good situation.

If it has a hook, would it have been there day one from the factory or develop over time? Also, anyone know how to check for hook?

Comes from being pulled from the mold too quickly. Just something to check before getting too deep into it, not trying to scare you.

    Heres some info on it.

Checked my hull for a hook with straight edge and it is fine. I also measured my prop shaft below pad and it is 4.25" which I think means the engine needs to be raised at least an inch. I will probably have a jack plate installed and try to adjust until I find the best height.

Go with a hydrodynamics rapid jack and you’ll have one of the best made.

I am going to have a 6" Magnum Rapid Jack installed and adjust prop to pad. No power poles planned for this rig.

I would be inclined to go with a 8 or even 10 if Nitro says they are exceptable, A 150 does not acheive the speed on that boat to get enough natural lift from water or wind. Needs all the help it can get. Remove any weight you can and move what have as far back as possible
I personally do not like power lifts, more things to go wrong as well as more weight
    Thank You Leon Pugh

Before spending any money check for a hooked hull. If not, then get a jackplate.
