It was released back into Taney, so could grow and provide another record.

Here is the last 3.5 minutes of the fight with that giant that another boat filmed. We fished in the same tournament and actually took 4th, but it doesn't mean much when somebody brings in a state record brown!

I usually try it once a summer for largemouth but without much luck. I did run into a guy tearing up the white bass down there.

I always say I am hoing to head down lake and try fishing for bass, but I can never seem to leave the trout alone long enough to do so.

I have a 12.6# brown I caught in 1990 then it was 1 # off the state record. Iwas a freshman in high school. The fish was the buzz around there for a few weeks the game warden Bill Gray was standing next to me when I caught it. The hatchery folks all wanted to see it. 34# would eat mine! Wow!

Well it's confirmed that "Frank" is alive and well. He was spotted yesterday back down near Lilley's Landing dock where he has spent a lot of his time the past three years. He was released several miles up river from there and made it back to his old stomping grounds within a few weeks. He probably packed on a little more weight recently too since there was a big run of dead shad coming through Tablerock Dam recently.

He was hatched in 2011 and stocked in Taneycomo in 2013 with the first batch of triploid brown trout. It's an 8 year old fish. I don't think they know exactly what the life expectancy of a triploid is yet. They supposedly grow 4-5# a year. Based on the weight of the record, I'd say that holds true.
