    motor starting in driveway

I have a 2012 200xs and want to start it in my driveway. I have the muffs in place turned on the water and water comes out of 4 small holes at the front of the lower unit. Do i need to plug those holes up before i start the motor?
    Thanks

Yes sir. If you do not have the Merc plug you can use duct tape. Also, do not rev over 1200 in neutral. It will cause a code.

duck tape did the job. Have not run the motor in 2 months and wanted to make sure it started before i went out and it started right up.
    Thanks for the help.

For an optimax never go over 1300 RPM on the earmuffs. Never heard of having to plugging any other holes.
