    Question Cold weather Rain Gear

So I’ve never been able to bite the bullet and drop $600 on a SIMMS suit like I really want, but I’m tired of having to get a little wet and be uncomfortable with the suit I have...
any one have any cheaper suggestions/ personal recommendations???

Im concerned with fishing suit that’s built for less than 60 degrees and isn’t gigantic and baggy.. something somewhat fitted

Get something with goretex. There’s no such thing as a cheap rain suit that doesn’t leak.

Go on Amazon and look at Rivers West. Warmest and driest out there.

I would say cabelas guidewear or bps pro qualifier is going to be the best for the less. Any lesser quality and you will probably have the same issues with getting wet.

Adam, I wear Gill, and I think it's equal to, maybe even better than Simms. I had a set of Guidewear, and while nothing was wrong with it, when I had a chance to try on a set of Gill several years ago, I was just that impressed, that I had to get a set. And to boot, it was less expensive that Guidewear. Let me know if you want to check it out.

H20 suits from Acadamy sports are hard to beat for the money. Had one for 2 years and it has never leaked a drop.

Goretex that fits you well is hard to beat. After a few years you usually need to renew it in the dryer or reapply the DWR.

Cabela’s Guidwesr. It’s been the number one ranked rain suit for years for a reason.

Lots of options out there. Each has it's on personality. You just have to mull thru them and let experience tell you which one suits "your" needs. Saw a guy wearing a "wet suit" on Norman one day bass fishing. He said it fit his needs of rain gear for fishing. Kind of fit the boat he had.

I love mine as well. I'm not gonna say it has never leaked a drop.....but when it's raining hard I personally don't think anything made will keep you bone dry.

High end gear will. Goretex pro is worth it to me. It doesn’t leak.
